Now we have a snap election pending what can reading Facebook comments do but fill me with an intense dread? Like mammalian predators spooked at the scent of lunch, the trolls, shills and banal idiots make exodus to social media to offload their pent up energies born from achievment-less lives and misdirected anger.
Like the post-Brexit racists, the rest of the right wing revel in their own ignorance, interpreting trivialities as proof of their perceived correctness: this election is nothing to do with the Tory party's previous electoral fraud but clearly a demonstration of strong Tory leadership.
For me; I can hardly bear the comments now; can hardly stomach them. For what do these comments reveal but this country's impending ruination?
Does anyone doubt the Tories will be re-elected? They will be re-elected; but not for good reasons; by a glad and welcoming electorate, consumed by the intoxication of corporate media, duped, and willingly duped, by mediated words which fail to hold the corrupt to account whilst lingering on minuscule details and insignificancia.
Those who will bother to vote will vote overwhelmingly for self harm. It will not bother them that the Tories committed electoral fraud. Why should it? The main stream media won't make it an issue and the British public will fall for it. They won't demand action or justice; they will be too busy basking in the sweet propaganda of hard-right politics to care about their own rights. They will be too elated by the Tory victory - a non-achievement they will join in celebrating - to perceive or care about this infringement on democracy.
And they will turn on the B.B.C., to see 'impartial' reporting - or as they see it: 'left wing' - and they will rejoice as the reporters on screen sing praises to our new overlords, hiding their tightened smirks behind clawed hands; they will scoff at the idiot public and tell them the country is in the best hands.
Over and out for now, guys!
