Crying with Laughter

How I loathe the crying-with-laughter emoticon; a device of ready made drollness, used by a wretched populace devoid of charm or any kind of wit. With it they punctuate their writings, adding much required context to their mundanities, necessary context, to make clear a joke has in fact been attempted, whilst saturating their commentary in the assumption comedy has been achieved, using it in multiples to elevate words of the blandest sentiments to the realm of perceived splendour.

Without the emoticon one would not know a joke has been made. It is a device to add gravitas to the words of the pedestrian.

I banish thee crying-with-laughter,

I banish thee to the dominion of emptiness and non-thinking,

I send thee to the place of non-achievement, where you can huddle with your devoted users, in an orgy of self aggrandisement and self appreciation.
