The Insult of Voting Tory

You don't remember why you first voted Tory: perhaps to prove a friend wrong, or to feebly rebel against your parents, or maybe not to rebel; maybe you've always been a Tory voter, and have never questioned why.

The glaring reality of Tory incompetence – not incompetence; the deliberate, systemic selling off of the country's infrastructure – this treachery, the conspicuous reality of this contempt for the ordinary people, fills you with nothing but shame for your misguided support. Yet you would rather lie than accept you made a mistake. You would rather lie to yourself than to engage in real, intelligent, grown up political discourse.

So confident are the Tories of their unquestioned support, upheld by their corporate media allies, they simply forget to uphold the pretense of competent leadership. Their every action is an affront to your values, their repeated empty platitudes are expressions of scorn towards their devoted minions. Their shambolic governance, favourable only to the corporate investors who profit from people's insistence to live, is propped up by the most flaccid of lies. Even your faith in the supporting propaganda dogs you with that niggling realisation of its integral deficit of reason.

Caught between the sham and the risk of looking foolish after years of gleeful subservience, what choice do you have but to save face and continue your mirthless grinning as the Tory party actively perpetually humiliates you, destroying everything of value in your life: The N.H.S., education, U.K. Industry, common values … gone, it's all gone, and what can you do? Continue the lie, save face, deny the corruption, the ill-governance, and continue to vote Tory.

Over and out for now, guys!
